Earl Meyers formed the Fremont Game Club in 1971-1972 when his son Glenn wanted to learn to shoot. Earl formed the Fremont Fish and Game Club and opened a training facility with 18 lanes on the second story of a building in downtown Fremont. Glenn and other young archers learned the proper form and techniques of archery and Glenn went on to earn his spot on the 1984 Olympic team. Today the Club is known as Fremont Archers, Inc and has non-profit status. Fremont Archers also has a 40 acre outdoor 3D target range suitable for both traditional and compound shooters located near Sylvan Lake.
